We are happy to report that all of our April, 2010 litter are now with their new families. They are all really lucky to have great new homes--we appreciate all of you who have inquired about our puppies, come to visit or taken one home!
The most recent litter was born October 24, 2010. They are as beautiful as the last litter--6 healthy, bouncy babies ( 3 creme and 3 black) that will be ready to go their new homes right around Christmas or the first of the year. They will then be approximately 8 weeks old and will have visited our vet and had a thorough check up and their first round of shots. They will have been wormed at least once. They will also have had some good outside time with our family and friends. We begin taking them outside to play just as soon as their eyes are open and it's warm enough for them to be comfortable. This outside time also begins to encourage potty training.....we start them young and by the time they are 8 weeks, they are associating outdoors with the place to potty--a good thing!
Our puppies will have seen other dogs, cats, horses and the occasional cow--yes, we are a working farm! They will have been cuddled and played with by our 3 year old & 1 year old grandsons and many other great kids who hang out at the horse barn. If you are looking for a family pet, you are looking in the right place.
If this is your first dog, we encourage you to take the time to research other breeds, but can't imagine that you would find anything smarter or more laid back than a Labradoodle. They do enjoy, and need, exercise....as all dogs do. They will be happiest when they have playtime and regular walks outside, especially when they are young. As they mature, they will still need that play time, but they will also be happy lying at your feet (or on the couch, in the bed, by the fire......) and just hanging with the family. Interestingly, this breed is becoming well known for field trials, but with their strong retriever background, it should be no surprise that this is a natural fit for them. They are a super versatile dog that will fit many lifestyles and interests.
